The hotel has been awarded 2 stars by the Scottish Tourist Board,
a testament to the superb comfort, amenities and service enjoyed by those who
stay here. The hotel has a traditional Scottish bar with a log fire where you
can enjoy a few pints and a 'blether' with the locals, as well as a lounge bar,
à la carte restaurant, beer garden, games room and internet access (priced

Macara's Restaurant...
|
|
|
| The à la carte restaurant, Macara's, seats 75 and serves
a selection of freshly prepared meals. Children are welcome - the children's menu
has recently been reworked to make it healthier. For less formal dining, meals
are also served in the lounge bar. Parties, dances and other social events can
be hosted in Macara's (the room can be extended to provide a dancefloor). To find

Things to do around Moniaive
|

During your stay in Moniaive you certainly won't be stuck for things to do!
This picturesque conservation village has a rich history, with ties to James Renwick
(one of the last Covenantors) and Anne Laurie. Laurie was born at Maxwellton House
which is open to visitors, as is nearby Drumlanrig Castle, home to the Duke of
Buccleugh. In and around Moniaive are several art galleries and studios which
are open to the public, such as the Doggsbone Galleries, the Green Tea House and
